Mobile phone with bluetooth

The wife's new car has bluetooth handsfree built in so I thought about getting her an inexpensive bluetooth phone. Can anyone recommend one please?

not always as good as it seems. I have had a bluetooth system in my car for the last 4 years, and have found that each time I change my phone I have had to change my bluetooth dongle as different phone configure bluetooth to work in different ways.

I don't think built in bluetooth requires a dongle but I may be wrong. I'm assuming you are going for a pay as you go otherwise cost wouldn't be an issue really.

 

I've got this and its not bad for whats is essentially a really basic phone.

I have however heard that if you use this phone on O2 the message they send to you when you miss a call can cause the phone to lockup. I'm on orange so it works perfect for me.

I also got a free PS3 with this phone on an 18 month contract that was the main pull for me.

Both are £19.95 if you buy £10 credit at the same time and are available on O2, Virgin, Orange & T-Mobile.

The 2630 is also available on Vodaphone 2760 isn't.

I've got a 2630, nice little phone (and I do mean little, it's very slim). Works fine with my Plantronics BT headset. Only gripe is that it can be slightly sluggish going through the phonebook at times, but that will only be noticeable if you've had a nice powerful phone in the past.

It will be pay as you go. She has a great Orange contract at present that we want to keep so we'll just change the simcard over.

How long till the end of the contract? If its not too long it may be worth telling them you are thinking of leaving. They usually fight to keep you with them and offer you really nice phones and sometimes even cut the cost of your current contract.

They tried with me but the fact that I could have a my PS3 a week later led me to change contracts to what is considerably overpriced for what I get. The way I see it though its like buying a PS3 on reletively cheap credit.

Make sure you buy an orange pay and go then as you may find another one may not work with her sim.

I got a 2630 a couple of weeks ago from Carphone Warehouse. To be on the safe side I got an Orange one for £29.99 + £10 top up, less £10 trade in. It looked so good, I've just been back to get one for myself. The salesguy said that they are all unlocked, so I could get an 02 for £19.99 and use my Orange SIM. As he was getting the stuff together he asked if I knew anyone on O2 because there was a further £10 off. I didn't, so he got the number off my new phone, changed the last digit and, lo and behold, I knew someone on O2. So the cost of the phone:

 

£19.99 + £10 topup - £10 trade in - £10 O2 deal.
