iphone itouch iquestion

Been asked a question that I don't have a clue about.

 

A friend has an itouch. Hes getting an iphone soon, and wants to know if its possible to have all his paid for DRM songs that hes got on his itunes and itouch also on an iphone. Can he have an itouch and an iphone registered to itunes at the same time?

 

ive never itouched any ipod or such so dont have an answer for him.

 

Can someone answer his query?

We currently have 3 ipod nanos and and ipod touch all using the same itunes.

Can the downloaded paid for tracks be transferred between them no problem?

Yes. I believe the downloaded music is limited to 5 or 6 devices (not sure exactly)

 

I don't know about films. I suspect that's limited to a single device from what I've seen.

The general rule with iTunes I believe is DRM'ed music can be transferred onto as many ipods etc as you want. Its limited though by cd burns and pc licensed. Managing multiple devices can be a pain though I believe.

Yeh it was ages ago I tried (several versions ago) and it was not straight forward then. I have since cured the problem by always flogging the old one when I get the new one

I think IIRC the terms and conditions for music purchased via Itunes store says that it can be installed on 5 devices in the same household.
