Wireless setup

We are thinking about setting up a wireless connection across the school and i thought about buying the HP Procurve 420 AP.

 

My question is do i have to set this up using RADIUS or can i just use a WEP key and connect all laptops using that?

 

I don't really want to mess around with the server as we only have one as it has exchange and SIMS on it already. What is the best option for security here?

If you're going to use wep then you might as well not bother and just leave it as an open system.

 

wpa/wpa2 is the way forward.

 

Unmanaged systems are a pain and then so are some managed systems.

If you really want to install wireless around the school then a managed system is needed but for that you need smt involvement and money.

 

If you can't afford to put in a decent system then I wouldn't bother as all you will end up with is headaches.
