Secure Data Transfer System

Been having problems with the Secure Data Transfer System that’s used to download CTF files and such like.

 

The problem is that staff don’t realise that when they see a gold bar appear at the top of IE they need to click it to download the file. I was handed a paper today that they printed from teachernet that explained how to turn off the file prompting but as it’s a security feature I’m reluctant to do that. I’ve added the address https://securedatatransfer.teachernet.gov.uk to the trusted sites list but the file prompting continues. What else can I do?

You could disable the prompt for trusted sites, set the security level to custom and disable the automatic prompt for downloads.

I would block people from adding sites to trusted. Do like teejay says (using GP).

 

Anything *.gov.uk is safe. Just thinking ahead

Initial link may be NSFW, second link searches .gov.uk domains for compromised pages and find 77 results, third link searches .sch.uk domains and finds 18 results.

.sch.uk < well it's up to the school, thus why i didn't say trust them

 

.gov.uk < well it happens, however this is a event which = someone getting fired lol
