Snapscan issue

Hello everybody,

 

Forgive me if this should be in the Windows forum, I couldn't decide!

 

Firstly, I've read this thread already which didn't help!

 

The situation

I have an Agfa Snapscan e20 scanner that I need to work on a student workstation. I've installed the latest driver from Agfa's driver page (Agfa stopped making scanners in 2001) and installed that. As an administrator of the machine, the scanner (including the Scanwise application) works.

 

Obviously, I can't have the students being administrators of the machine - that would be crazy. I don't think the Snapscan e20 was TWAIN either so that won't help. I've also checked the manuals (very old) and they don't offer any assistance with this matter

 

Has anybody come across this problem before, and solved it?
