alan-d Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Not really a FFS so put it here: I informed all teaching staff by email about a link to a revision planner site (probably picked it up from this site). Many Staff said thanks but one individual (SMT) took it further. Welcome to the Twilight Zone! Email to Staff: I came across this web site MyRevisionPlan which you may find to be of use to students. Individual to me: {name], this looks interesting. I am unclear as to the security of student data that might be uploaded and whether it remains with the school or is stored elsewhere. I would need to know this before we out it on our site, also, the admin. implications for [exams Officer]. Could you find out more please? Thanks. [name] I'm pretty sure I didn't mention anything about putting it on any site, but anyway, I reply: All data is stored off site, there are no links to the school. [exams officer] does not need to be involved at all as all exam dates are taken from the various examination boards directly. Students register themselves. I only mentioned it to staff as a possible alternative to aid students plan their revision if they felt it would help. Individuals reply: [name], Put it on the VLE as a link, it could prove of value to students planning their revision. Thanks. [name] Isn't that what I said in my original email? (Less the VLE link) Well I thought it was funny
Heebeejeebee Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 He's probably getting it from the bit that says student data can be automatically populated from your MIS. Looks like a nice site and might take a closer look when I've got 10 mins. HBJB
alan-d Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 We still have the link in our VLE, it seems some students use it.
