Reaper Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Recently installed a bluetooth USB adaptor on a laptop and it somehow managed to kill the built-in wireless card connection during the install. The wireless won't pick up an IP and connect to the router anymore. I have uninstalled the Bluetooth adaptor + software, uninstalled and reinstalled the wireless card + software but it still refuses to work..... What the hell is going on?
farmerste Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 i have found with some network adaptors the driver you install can make a difference, some driver actually 'flash' the chips on the nic, and you can make adjustments like wake on lan etc, so i'd try a new driver, or make a bart pe bootdisk to see if that will sort ir out, or you could try ubcd4win for a ready made pe boot cd ( you need xp as well )
