IT Technician Apprentice

Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex (CO15 3JL) – supporting 3 local Lift Schools

Salary: £25,949 per annum

Contract: Fixed-Term (duration of apprenticeship), Full-Time (37 hours per week)

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Kickstart your IT career with Lift Schools! As an IT Technician Apprentice, you will earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience alongside completing a fully funded, nationally recognised Level 3 IT Solutions Technician apprenticeship. You will support students and staff across three local schools in the Clacton area (Lift Clacton, Lift Hamford Primary Academy, and Lift Tendring).

What You’ll Learn & Do

• Diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and device issues (Windows, Apple, Chrome).

• Install, configure, and maintain laptops, Chromebooks, and audio-visual equipment.

• Support classroom technology, printing, telephony, and CCTV systems.

• Log support requests accurately using our IT service management portal.

• Travel between local school sites to provide on-site technical assistance.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Passionate about technology, enthusiastic, and eager to build an IT career.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

• GCSE Maths & English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent/willingness to achieve Functional Skills).

• Must have resided in the UK/EEA for at least 3 years prior to starting.

• Must not have already completed a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician apprenticeship.

• No previous IT work experience required—we are looking for potential!
