Echo Dot Connection Issues

Hi all,

 

Have a few schools using on-premise Smoothwall filtering.

 

Anyone else using the same, do you have issues connecting Amazon Echo Dot devices to the Alexa App.  It can be a battle.  

 

Any guidance much appreciated.

Not smoothwall here, but I've found that you can't use a lot of IoT devices on an isolated SSID (which you might do to disable decryption without having to assign a DHCP reservation) as they expect LAN access to the phone/tablet doing the setup.
