why are tutor groups not showing on student timetables in sims next gen

This is very worrying from an admin perspective. We have 1990 timetables to print in september and to file in tutor pigeon holes!

Reporting these issues feels like climbing mount everest.

Just went to Print timetables in SIMS Next Gen and picked a current tutor group, and the default template puts the student name | Tutorgroup at the top, along with which year and week the timetable is for below it.

 

Only think I dislike is it's putting the member of staff's name in the header, but I've fixed that by duplicating the existing "Pupil Timetable" template and unticking the Header and footer option.

It is a shame you can't alter the text at the top of the page though still.

what if you are printing one timetable, we often have chnages for one student at a time and need to print a new single timetable

Ah I see what you mean.  Yes if your just printing a single user via the profile route it doesn't put the tutor group, but if your printing out the whole year/tutor group for start of year you would be going via the bulk method.

 

Minor oversight from SIMS to have 2 different layouts for the same thing, but on ours it does have the tutor group in the Registration slot
