How do you deploy desktop backgrounds devices in intune?

Hi all,

 

Hope you are well.

 

I am trying to link website hosted background through intune to devices. So students have a wallpaper, staff have a different one etc. Is this possible?

 

What is the best way to do this or if not what is the best method to deploy the wallpapers to the devices?

We used the built-in administrative templates.

Desktop > Desktop

Wallpaper name

Wallpaper Style

 

Control Panel > Personalization

Force a specific default lock screen and logon image

Path to lock screen image

Prevent changing lock screen and logon image
 

We only apply one wallpaper to all and push these to the device.

Thanks mate. Do you put the path in Wallpaper name or anything?

 

If we can't deploy to a user group and it needs to be staff devices have 1 wallpaper and student shared devices have another I can live with that.

I was sure we picked up the wallpaper from our website but it looks like we have it on a local share and it just picks up the file when it has connection.  I think I will change that over the summer.

Yes the name needs to be full path, with file extension.

 

I can't see why it couldn't be applied to person.

Thanks again. I have tried using that with the https path to the hosted wallpaper and I am seeing a black block screen.

Got it working i put the wrong name in for the file. Thanks mate.

I deploy ours via win32 app package. you include the wallpaper in the win32 package along with this script.

 

The install command is:

Does anyone know how to do this and push different resolution wallpapers so that the correct resolution screen displays the correct resolution wallpaper through Intune?
