michaelf Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Infrastructure Engineer Salary: £44,544 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00 Location: Buckingham (on site) Anticipated start date: As soon as possible following recruitment https://buckingham.t1cloud.com/T1Default/CiAnywhere/Web/BUCKINGHAM/Public/Function/%24ORG.REC.EXAPN.WIZ/HR_PO_RECRUIT?suite=CES&token=4c92a67a-99b0-48f3-b8ff-032856477c2f I’m looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join me at the University of Buckingham. There’s a lot going on at the moment — we’re kicking off a full campus network refresh with Extreme Networks and nearing the implementation of a new TechnologyOne ERP system, so it’s a genuinely interesting time to join. This is a broad infrastructure role working across network, server, endpoint and cloud technologies, but I’m particularly keen to hear from people with strong Microsoft 365 experience. At the moment, we’re not making the best use of Microsoft 365 across the University. There’s a real opportunity here to change that. I’m seeing increasing interest from colleagues who want to do more with the tools available, and I’ve seen first hand the impact things like the Power Platform can have when they’re used well. This isn’t a fully formed environment where everything is already in place. I’m looking for someone who wants to take ownership of this area, shape how it develops, and build something practical that improves how people work day to day. You’ll be part of a small infrastructure team where engineers work across different areas rather than in strict silos. Each engineer takes the lead in certain areas while supporting others across the wider environment. Please see the attached responsibilities matrix for more detail on how this works. I’m particularly interested in people who: • Have a solid foundation across infrastructure (network, server, endpoint or cloud) • Have experience with Microsoft 365 and an interest in developing this further • Enjoy solving problems and improving how things work • Are comfortable working with colleagues outside IT and explaining technical concepts clearly • Are proactive and happy to take ownership of an area and develop it over time You don’t need to tick every box. I’m much more interested in attitude, approach and a solid foundation than a perfect match on paper. Closing date: 10th April 2026 Interviews: Week commencing 30th April/1st May 2026
