A well established education organisation in Central London is looking to appoint an IT Infrastructure and Operations Lead to take ownership of the reliability, security and performance of its IT infrastructure.

This is a senior hands on technical role focused on networks, cloud platforms, infrastructure and operational support. It suits an experienced infrastructure engineer or IT operations specialist looking for ownership and responsibility.

 

Location Central London
Salary £50,000 to £60,000
Contract Permanent Full Time

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support network infrastructure including switches, WiFi and VLANs
• Support Azure based servers and virtualised environments
• Manage Microsoft 365 platforms including Entra, Exchange, SharePoint and Intune
• Lead advanced troubleshooting and incident resolution
• Act as senior technical escalation point
• Manage backups, disaster recovery, patching and system monitoring
• Support device management across Windows, macOS, iPads and Chromebooks
• Ensure IT systems support classrooms, exams and events
• Liaise with third party suppliers and technical partners
• Maintain technical documentation and network diagrams
• Ensure security, GDPR compliance and safeguarding standards are met

Skills and experience required

• Strong experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure
• Solid background in IT infrastructure and operations
• Strong networking knowledge including switching and WiFi
• Experience supporting Windows and macOS environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Ability to work calmly under pressure
• Excellent communication and stakeholder skills
