Simcfc73 Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 Morning, I inherited this licensing at my new school so forgive my ignorance. I always had desktop licenses where I previously worked as pupils didn't have their own devices and server licenses depending if they were hyper-V or standalone. Pretty straightforward with the Full time staff calculations. My new school has Enterprise Mobility + Security A5 for staff and Microsoft 365 A3 for students use benefit for students. They have purchased separate Defender licenses for all the devices as I was told this used to be included in the AQ5 license but no longer is. I've been told that the servers are activated using the A5 license as they are in Entra.... but I dont have access to any product keys or downloads due to this. Does this sound right? I can see in the admin portal that no license have been assigned to servers or devices also.
MartinT Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 You should be able to get all the product keys from the school's 365 Admin portal. My old school had exactly the same licence setup and we deployed Defender via Group Policy except for Macs that required a script.
