Anyone using Action1 to manage Windows updates in a school?

Just wondering if there is anyone using Action1 to manage their Windows updates, as I cant update any feature updates.

 

When I try to do a feature update, say from 24h2 to 25h2, A1 says Windows 11 Pro Education is not supported.

 

I really don't want to walk around and do this manually, that would be a real nightmare

Apologies, I do not have automatic monitoring on this form, so late getting to this, did you get this resolved?

Hi, I managed to contact Action1 and was told schools will not be able to use Action1 to update the main Windows feature updates, which is a massive shame.

 

The odd thing is, it used to work just fine.

It was in regards to the pro Education version of Windows 11. I guess all Education versions have this issue.

Ok, I just talked to support manager, who said that this belief was incorrect as far as he knew as well.
Can you DM me a case number, he said he will look into it and find out what is going on.

If you do not have a case number still, the email you use to sign in with will work as well.

Ok, so what I have found out is it had to do with how the upgrade assistant interacts specifically with education versions. But that does not mean it is dead in the water. Our support manager is firing up in his lab and getting a more solid answer and or workarounds if possible, I will keep you posted. We need a better answer than "wont" either way, it should be "will" or "Will not for these verifiable reasons documented here."

I'll stick with it till one of those is found. I appreciate your patience!

I was thinking, even if you have a script that I can run, to push the feature updates out from Action1, that would be so helpful.

I have it running. Upgrades work fine. Just finished upgrading one site to 25H2. All running Education.

Just had the following on the next client - Windows 11 Installation Assistant is not supported on Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Education. 😞

Nice. I do get issues with disk space or unsupported processor (hopefully all gone now). But works most of the time.

We do have a readiness report that will show W11 compatibility, not sure if there were any major changes in system requirements between versions or builds though.
