An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced technology leader to join a respected education setting in Surrey. This role is well suited to someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands on technical leadership, ensuring that staff and students benefit from a reliable, secure and forward looking digital environment.

The opportunity

As Head of Technology you will lead the full IT service, guiding the digital vision while ensuring the smooth running of all infrastructure, networks, systems and applications. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver a clear technology roadmap and introduce solutions that enhance the learning experience.

Your work will directly contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where technology plays a key part in enabling pupils to thrive.

What you will be doing

• Leading IT operations and ensuring a high quality and responsive service
• Shaping a modern digital strategy that supports both educational and organisational aims
• Managing network and server environments, cloud platforms and cybersecurity measures
• Delivering strong data protection and governance practices including GDPR
• Overseeing projects, upgrades and structured change management
• Supporting MIS systems, reporting tools and learning technologies
• Mentoring and managing an internal IT team
• Working with trusted suppliers to ensure best value and continuous improvement
• Managing hardware, software, licensing and assets across the organisation

About you

• Strong background in IT leadership within a multi user or education based environment
• Confident working across infrastructure, networks, security and cloud services
• Good understanding of data protection, governance and safeguarding responsibilities
• Clear communicator with the ability to explain technical matters simply and effectively
• Positive leadership style and a commitment to service excellence
• Experience with digital transformation or large scale improvement projects
• Organised, proactive and motivated to make a difference
