Hi,

So I found an old Xbox 360 and some games that I thought I'd give a go at. No power cable so I bought one off Amazon and it powered up ok. Now I've never had one before so I plugged one of the controllers I found with it into the usb at the front but the menu wouldn't move. It does turn the console on when I press the x on the controller though. I don't have any wireless controllers and the other controllers in the box have weird ends ( I've seen adapters for them to connect to usb)

Is it worth persevering as I'm concerned the USB are all shot and I'm wasting my money.

I did buy a USB controller from game today but I may have the wrong one.. works on my computer though if I decide to play old halo on it.

Are they definitely 360 controllers? From your "weird end" comment just wondering if it's original xbox controllers rather than 360 - Most the normal 360 ones were wireless (and had USB for charging if using reusable packs but those USB didn't let it work to use the controller etc) - With the USB ports for other accessories etc

Do you know which version of the 360 you have? As there should be additional USBs on the back on most of them too, depending on the age/variant
