RabbieBurns Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 is there a web browser out there that can use a socks 5 proxy that requires a username and password? I have not been able to find one as of yet, they support socks5 ok but none allow for the sending of credentials as well...
SYNACK Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 There is an open source client redirector here FreeCap Homepage - What is FreeCap? that should do what you want for all of the major browsers and also any other applications without socks5 authentication support. I don't know of any browsers that have it integrated though. If one does exist you may have rendering issues with is as not being one of the top three very few people would target it for compatibility.
phyxx Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 You can use ProxyChains in Linux to achieve this.
phyxx Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Instruction on how to use SOCKS5 proxies with any application (including web browsers) in linux can be found at BTGuard with web browser in linux
