synaesthesia Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 Can anyone provide a ballpark figure for Netsupport Notify costs please? Need to figure out if it's a possible go for us, have already requested details but need figures ASAP. Cheers
PotNoodleTech Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 Pm'd I wouldn't buy again. It's had zero improvement/progress in the last 6 years. 2 1
Gongalong Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 We paid something like £1 per license initially, and 50p per license per year maintenance (for around 120 license). Is there anything better and cheaper? 1

It does what it does & does it well, we use it quite a lot for important staff messages. (& it comes in handy if we have internet issues, can hardly email out to staff...) But yes, I get what you mean about it being left to wither - I think if it was a "One and done" license, then it wouldn't be so bad, but as it's an ongoing license cost it's a question of what are you getting for your money (Other than support if needed) But it is fairly cheap so..... Gongalong Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 My biggest wishes are that I could target users rather than PCs, and be able to edit notifications (they added that, and then removed it again when it broke things). I'll need to look into using departments, but it's currently park broken on the server it's on and the server requires rebuilding, so a future project... 1
synaesthesia Posted June 6, 2025 Author Posted June 6, 2025 Cheers guys. Unfortunately I don't think it ticks the boxes for us anyway; what we need is something far quicker for non technical staff to send messages out to groups, individuals or everyone and judging by the demo this is just too faffy; more work than sending an email. I can see it's uses for other things, but not for ours.
Gongalong Posted June 6, 2025 Posted June 6, 2025 I'm not on comission 😁 but you can install the message sending console on any client PC. It's then I would say the same as sending an email, in that you set a message type, subject and body text, and pick your person (or send to all).

Yeah, it's still too slow (maybe we're asking a bit much). Our current solution which is unfortunately only available on windows (much of the reason why we need an alternative) has predefined buttons to press - so for a medical call, press the medical button, type in what's needed and send - no faffing with subjects, types etc.
