XiJ Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 Hi all Very rare I start a topic, but I'm looking for any help with uploading a project to Gdevelop.io for a student at one of our schools. We've recently moved to LGfL and the code won't upload to the build server, giving a 'self-signed certificate in chain' error. Coding/building apps is not my forte, but we've removed https decryption for the domains that Gdeveop specify and have allowed the URL's too. (https://wiki.gdevelop.io/gdevelop5/getting_started/batch-install-gdevelop-company-university/#domains-to-be-allowed-for-gdevelop-app-services-to-function-correctly) anybody have an experience they can share?
psydii Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 Its the wildcards I think. I'm seeing similar errors with winget where hostname/subdomains change e.g. server1.cluster12.MITMexcluded.domain vs server23.cluster11.MITMexcluded.domain etc. It seemed to start about the same time they blocked Generative AI services by default.
PaddyNewman Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 Happy to look, ping me your school/DFE code in private messages and I'll take a looksies. I recognise the domain. 1

I recognise the domain. Oh, Hi Paddy - I think you may already be a contact of the IT Lead at the trust and have put some suggestions our way
PaddyNewman Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 I have found the support case @XiJ so I will jump back in. 1
PaddyNewman Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 Made a quick change, let me know if thats all OK

(I'm struggling to get into the support ticket with my browser - so replied here for speed!)
PaddyNewman Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 Does the support ticket end in 416? If so, be good to know the source IP and time.
Koldov Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 (edited) @XiJ have you looked through the School Protect dashboard for that computer to see if anything is actually being blocked? Edited April 28, 2025 by Koldov 1

Koldov Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 Well, most of it's way over my head, but a quick Google is just stating the obvious... "The error message "self signed certificate in certificate chain" typically occurs when the SSL certificate used by the server is self-signed or not trusted by the client" So something like, you have a certificate the server doesn't like in your 'chain'... Possibly SSL, so although you've removed the computer from decryption is it still reading the certificate?
PaddyNewman Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 Failure decrypting gd-games-in.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com Added and tested with the IT Lead, looks to be OK. 1
XiJ Posted April 28, 2025 Author Posted April 28, 2025 Paddy, you're a legend. Thank you for your help J
