You should have received an E-Mail with details. If not, best track it down! Schools must be signed up to the LRS as an organisation and register for access to the website. You will then be able to upload/download ULN CTFs to complete your Autumn Census. For those of us already signed up, anyone else looking forwards to a new and critical system for the census breaking in the Autumn again? S2S ULN Replacement Service Target audience: Maintained schools and academies in England Dear User, The ULN (Unique Learner Number) service provided via Schools 2 Schools (S2S), is due to be decommissioned at the end of November 2018. The ULN service is currently provided by the Department for Education to help schools in England obtain ULNs in a format that’s compatible with their own MI system. To ensure schools can continue to acquire ULNs for their pupils, the LRS is launching a new capability to process partial CTF files directly through the Learning Records Service Organisation Portal. This new functionality will allow schools to upload partial CTF files, resolve any issues, and then download processed CTF files containing the ULNs for their pupils. The ULN is mandatory for all pupils aged 13 and above and funded by the state. The ULN also needs to be included in the quarterly census return. Testing of the new functionality begins in July 2018 with a small cohort of schools with a go-live date for September 2018. Important Information In preparation for September, please review the table below and take the appropriate action to minimise any delays for collecting ULNs for your pupils. LRS Learning Provider Agreement https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/lrs-registration-documents School is already registered with LRS Super User & User Check you can login into the LRS Organisation Portal using your username and password. https://www.gov.uk/education/learning-records-service-lrs Problems with logging onto the LRS Organisation Portal Contact your Super User(s) in the first instance. Super user(s) is responsible for setting up new user accounts (including extra super user accounts), resetting passwords and activating suspended accounts. LRS Super User(s) 1. Verify all LRS users in your school have successfully logged into the portal. 2. Check the user accounts are set-up with a valid email address. 3. Finally, verify all users have set-up their secret question, giving them the ability to reset their password using the “forgotten password” Email address; this must be a unique email address per user. Do not use a generic address used by multiple users. We recommend up to three super-users per organisation to help manage the user community. LRS Service Desk The only exception is if all nominated super users have forgotten their password and can’t login. Please note: the desk will reset the password for one account only. CAM Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 Update: The transition has been postponed and the two systems running parallel on an invitation basis. Dear User, This is a follow-up to the message sent in June 2018 regarding the S2S ULN replacement service. We are postponing the decommissioning of the ULN (Unique Learner Number) service provided via Schools 2 Schools (S2S) until 2019. To ensure a smooth transition, there will be a period of parallel running with the Learning Records Service launching its new capability to process partial CTF files directly through the LRS organisation portal Starting from September 2018 and over a six-month period, we will begin to invite selected schools to start acquiring ULNs for their pupils directly from the LRS portal. We expect the roll out to complete by March 2019.
