CAM Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Does anyone know if data managers are eligible to join NAHT? According to this: https://web.nahtedge.org.uk/Join/Eligibility/Furtherinformationoneligibility.aspx We are on the list but only "with appropriate TLR or pay scale" (We are support staff, we don't get TLR!).
Corvidae Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 As far as I am aware, no. It seems that Data Manager is, and I fear always will be, a role where responsibility far exceeds authority.
CAM Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 It is a job where you pick up SLT level skills but aren't actually a senior member of staff and no real path to grow. There isn't anywhere to go but leave the sector or go back to college as a PGCE student which is a huge step backwards. :/
LosOjos Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 @CAM - or move to a support unit; better/equal pay, less responsibility, less stress, easier/more standard hours. I don't miss it!
CAM Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Support unit? As in MAT support team? I wanted to go LA but they died a death with the academies drive!
LosOjos Posted January 16, 2017 Author Posted January 16, 2017 I work for a large SIMS Support Unit now - not tied to any LA or MAT, our customers choose to come to us. It's been a breath of fresh air (and made me realize how little I know about primary schools!)
