Alis_Klar Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 Hi, I've inherited a G Workspace setup where some YouTube videos are blocked for students AND staff. For the Staff OU i've got the following setting Apps > Additional Google Services > YouTube > Service Status = ON Apps > Additional Google Services > YouTube > Content Settings > Signed in users in your organization can only watch restricted and approved videos = OFF Apps > Additional Google Services > YouTube > Content Settings > Approved Videos > Your Organisation hasn't approved any Videos Apps > Additional Google Services > YouTube > Content Settings > Special approvers > verified Google Classroom teachers can approve videos = ON There is a note with a purple flag stating "Applies only to your users with Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals licences." Staff OU users are still seeing the following video as restricted However HTTP header restriction are on according to https://www.youtube.com/check_content_restrictions?noapp=1 but if I try with a personal gmail account I can view the video so its something to do wit the workspace account rather than the network i think - - - Updated - - - Has anyone successfully set this up who could advise?

Alis_Klar Posted March 3, 2025 Author Posted March 3, 2025 After being on a call with Google support they pointed me at this setting which worked for me. Devices>Chrome>Settings>Users and browsers>SafeSearch and Restricted mode For the video we needed I change the setting from "Enforce Strict Restricted Mode on YouTube" to "Enforce at least Moderate Restricted Mode on Youtube" There is a 3rd "Do not enforce Restricted Mode on YouTube" but this wasn't necessary in my case. I left the pupil OUs at the most strict option.
