Hi there

I was wondering if anyone has come across this before.

We have a Power Options GPO deployed to workstations in classrooms to keep the screen on for 1 hour. This is deployed as a Computer Configuration / Admin templates / System / Power Management policy, and via Preferences / Control Panel / Power Options policy.

When PCs boot up, the PCs hang on 'Applying Group Policy Options'. This can take anytime between a few seconds, to 7 minutes. On newer PCs it is a lot quicker (but still takes time on that policy), but most of our classroom desktops are quite old!

I have checked Event Viewer and can't seem to find anything in the logs that is causing this.

I have enabled the Group Policy Preference Power Options policy to run some troubleshooting, but this seems to only report on the preference side of the policy, but not the computer policy side of it. All seems to apply successfully.

Any guidance / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jack
