Hello all.

I've just seen this report of an arson attack which destroyed a really promising fuel cell research project in Liverpool,

They are running a crowdfunder to try and recover; I've just donated something and wonder if anyone else can help.

I can't imagine what they are going through, as the main engineer was only months from presenting his PhD based on this.

Did he not think to store backups of his work somewhere away from the building i.e. cloud, like many of us already do since we'd all be in the s*** if we didn't?

There is no they - it's just one guy by the look of it no employees listed and less than £3k in the bank.

 

Very sad but it's so easy nowadays to upload stuff to google that it has to be a lesson learned for him.
