Today I found out that after a 999 call is made from a mobile all blocked numbers are temporarily unblocked (for about 2 hours)

Today I found out that after a 999 call is made from a mobile all blocked numbers are temporarily unblocked (for about 2 hours)

 

This happens on my Samsung S22. I've been curious to see if its a Samsung thing or a mobile operator requirement.

apparently T-Mobile customer survey texts are sent from 1112 which triggers it on Samsung phones due to the 112 emergency number

I had the same last time I had to ring 112, got a prompt to say we're allowing unknown calls for 2 hours. S24+.
