DAT|MAN Profiles

Hi All,

 

Seem to have run into a massive hurdle at the moment.

 

We are currently creating new Staff, and Student profiles, we started with students, copied an exisiting one with the correct groupings etc, added administrative rights, and set the machine up, dat was created, quite chunky, and logged on fine, got the dat off, renamed man and began redirects via registry, however the following now happens:

 

Student User Created: 1

 

New student 2 created, profile set to the new man saved in profile directory, however whenever logging in, the user does not get anything from the profile, it seems to copy everything down to local machine and do nothing, not a thing.

 

New student 3 created, same thing happens, profile is not working.

 

Changing student 1 to the man profile, logging in and VOILA! Works perfectly as expected.

 

Whats going wrong, how could I troubleshoot the problem, and are there any real easy things I'm doing wrong?

Have you checked the permitions?

Sure have, man folders read only, as was out last profile, and all permissions are exact as the old profile, however the old profile works multiple times, this one only seems to work for a single account.

 

Students, read, write etc, special permissions unticked, as a bonus added "Everyone" with read, write, no special permissions.

Load user.man as a hive file into Regedit and make sure that the security permissions are set so that your users can read it. If not; change the permissions and then unload to save.

Fixed the problem perfectly, internal permissions were not set for anyone.
