Laptop Charging Facilities for three meeting booths

Hi all,

We’ve been tasked with installing laptop charging facilities for three meeting booths. The desks have an inbuilt compartment which can open up has plug sockets in. I’m thinking of going for something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Charger-Upgraded-Charging-Station-Compatible-Black/dp/B0D2HVMK32/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?adgrpid=54018220020&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.sfNlRP6UF40Z2mOC0SPUqd-xJr-F6hzjrYmoEQgrDUCyoNnJUZx7Jp5tUAAmiY-mahHmueVOfGX6MT7qdLs0L2LeK86uKtv43zM_VKEmMgkbXzanI1r1v_FPu-T3MUXkeGIDge7GtgoRY-WJ87cmx6RbeP4SPOxEP1w-OflnXZsJ6wUm9CnqmpkXqnQa8BjXbJA6CEpM8C02redAcLyvEA.H0RrSpu6Enc_SLvzcngIev0OaAhIcfjiggvlY4TYIbE&dib_tag=se&hvadid=259150346380&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9199185&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=11910240814786995518&hvtargid=kwd-306754217896&hydadcr=16880_1798496&keywords=usb+c+charging+station&qid=1730799262&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1

one for each desk with 4 USB-C cables? Our laptops are HP’s and have both USB-C charging and your standard 9v round pin charger. Is this a good solution? Would love to hear if you all have setup something similar and any recommendations.

I think that product is not up to your task. If you look, there's only one 'full power' charging port there, and that only delivers 65w. Some laptops need more, and you certainly won't be running more than one laptop off that and getting a useful result. This is quite common for this sort of device; they are designed for individual use and expect you will have your laptop in the "full power" port and your phone and other sundries in the other. They mention this in the summary tbf (I added the emphasis):

What's cool is that you can charge laptop with top usb c ports of 65w and also compatible with PPS 45W fast charging.

I'd look to a reputable supplier and discuss your needs with them - I'd be very careful buying off-brand stuff from Amazon for commercial use. Heck, I wouldn't even buy that particular product for personal use.

Thank you I’ll have a chat with some suppliers, I was quite dubious based on their description. I was hoping there might be an elegant solution that’s not a charging trolley but I think I’m looking for something that doesn’t exist. Will probably have to install some standard laptop chargers anyway and make our own mini laptop style trolley inside the desk compartment.

It's boring but that's probably what you want in terms of electrics - essentially a static "laptop trolley" that only occasionally has laptops plugged in.
