Tel Extension on Teams Files

Hello

 

Looking for some advice - a teacher raised that they couldnt open folders in the Files section of Teams

I added myself to the Team and had the same problem when using the web version on Edge - its fine on Chrome

I noticed when using Edge it prompted me to allow pop ups and asked how I wished to open this 'tel' link

It seems to think I wish to call someone as I get an error when i choose Teams to open it but not sure why the folder has become associated with this file extension in the first place or how to change it?

Any Edge extensions installed? Specifically, to do with your PBX or softphone? I've had this before when a link got interpreted as a phone number by and extension and it caused issues.

I've used the Tel HTML function before on the mobile version of our website. The syntax for correct usage of this is:

 

Tel:+442085100200

 

Apologies if I'm suggesting the obvious, but does your link to the Teams docs contain "tel:" in it anywhere? I'd be really surprised if Teams has created that link unexpectedly, but kinda wouldn't be surprise if SharePoint had.
