Sophos AV DLP other DLP systems

I'm not too fond of Sophos AV DLP it does not seem to provide enough inside to be worth using it as an AV. Are all DLP systems so limited that you can only detect data flowing into the following:

 

E-mail clients

Internet browsers

Internet browser's external processes

Voice over IP client

Storage

 

I have a web application that data goes to and from this triggers the DLP alert.

 

Is this the only way of dealing with it or are there other DLP solutions that would work I would like to use MS Endpoint DLP but that is another £10K.
