SCCM & Intune Co-Management - Preventing Primary User

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

We've had co-management enabled for SCCM and Intune for a long time now and it's all been fine. We're now shifting some workloads over to Intune and I've noticed that almost all of our on-site AD joined devices that appear in Intune are showing with primary users assigned. To cut a long story short, we had a lot of issues with DFE laptops being assigned primary users when it came to reconfiguring and reissuing them to other users, with converting them to shared devices fixing the issue. While I can convert all of these devices to shared devices manually, how do I prevent future co-managed/on-site devices registering into Intune with primary users?

It appears to be related to Auto Enrollment and the MDM settings, by setting it to None...but I want to be sure that's right before changing a global setting.

Hi,

I am seeing a similar issue when setting co-management up. Did you find a solution?

Thanks

Dave

would also be interested as well, having the same issue

Unfortunately not. I raised a case with Microsoft's Intune support and they said the only solution would be to go through each device in Intune and manually remove the primary user, which I did and it was tedious. Research from Google and AI will lead you to believe you can do it via the Graph API, but you can't anymore it seems. Microsoft confirmed that it was possible via the now depreciated MsGraph but it cannot be done via the new MgGraph. Maybe that functionality has since been into MgGraph, but I'm not holding my breath.
