petben Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Hello, I have deployed an almost vanilla win11 image (plus software obvs) to our workstations but Apps like 'Snipping Tool' and 'Clock' are not there. My office machine has these, I think I installed this from an ISO downloaded off the same MS licensing site as the image was built from. Any ideas why and how I can push out Windows (store? is it still) Apps using GPO? Thanks
Rob_D Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 (edited) Are you using redirected start menus? We've noticed that despite being installed snipping tool will not work from the redirected shortcut. Edited September 6, 2024 by Rob_D
petben Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 we are yes, is there a work around for that?
petben Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 In fact logged in as me I am not using a redirect start, and the apps are still not found
Rob_D Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 The only shortcut redirect that works for us is to "snippingtool.exe". Other "workaround" (if you can call it that) is the fact that our "Suppress default start menu" GPO doesn't seem to work properly in Win11 so staff can find the working one from the default start if they scroll down far enough (but it just doesn't show up in searches). Or Windows+Shift+S works fine here.
