Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and committed School ICT Technician to join our team at The King’s School in Grantham. This full-time position runs from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00. The salary is negotiable, ranging from £26,000 to £32,000, and includes a company pension and 28 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays). You will receive support and development from our wider central technical team.

Role Description

This full-time position is ideal for a technically adept candidate with excellent attention to detail. As the primary contact for IT Support at the school, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining a resilient and secure network infrastructure.

 

You will work closely with the school’s staff and students on a daily basis, and collaborate with visiting senior engineers to diagnose and troubleshoot a range of support issues, from simple to complex.

 

We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who enjoys variety in their work, can manage a broad range of tasks independently, and effectively balances priorities while utilizing different and new technologies.

 

Requirements

• A strong technical background with a passion for providing high-quality ICT services.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in supporting and maintaining Windows operating systems.

• A keen enthusiasm for learning and adopting new technologies.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance competing pressures, deadlines, and demands.

 

Desirable

• Previous experience in a school environment.

• Demonstrated skills in network administration and engineering.

• Proficiency with a wide range of hardware, including Apple, Android, and Windows devices.

• Experience with firewalls, switches, routers, wireless systems, and various other network devices.

• Familiarity with managing Windows Server, Virtualization, Microsoft Entra, InTune, Apple MDM, Office 365, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange.

• Experience with support helpdesk systems or other electronic job/time management tools.
