Afternoon all,

Applying the latest iLO 5 3.05 firmware from 3.04, it's installed fine on most servers, however I've noticed servers with Shared Ports and static IPs thereafter are unable to connect. Servers with Dedicated Ports and static IPs continue to operate normally.

By switching Shared Ports to DHCP, I'm able to connect, but back to an existing static IP or new static IP, I'm unable to connect.

I've restarted iLO and tried toggling the adapter off/on within the Windows Configuration Utility. I've had some joy with this, but not in all cases.

Any other suggestions, as right now it looks like a bug. Everything's been working fine on 3.04 and older firmware.

Hi mate,

first post to share my findings.

iLO 3.05 has a bug where the default gateway is not used when iLO is using the shared network port.

Dedicated iLO port does not look like to be affected.

I implemented a NAT rule on my firewalls to workaround that issue.

A downgrade would work (if you can access you iLO) to version 3.03

Personally I'd not suggest using version 3.04 as it has an ugly fan control bug (fans stuck at high speed, makes noise and customers unhappy)

Cheers,

Bernhard

iLO 3.06 has the same issue.

All my dedicated iLO servers are on 3.06 without issue and all shared iLO servers I've downgraded to 3.04 = problem resolved. I have reported it to HP, but heard nothing back.
