Biostore Softlink biometrics integration

Hi all,

 

We have been having issues with our biometrics when using Oliver in our school library.

 

ID Manager using Edge. Tried with other browsers without success.

 

We seem to bounce between Softlink and Biostore with no results.

Unfortunately we had had this same issue on our site.

Bio store uses a software called ID Key on your machine to poll the finger print reader and then send the BioID via ActiveX to Oliver.

How ever since Microsoft has removed Internet Explorer and removed ActiveX from Edge ID Key no longer works.

Bio Store could easily build all this functionality into a chrome plugin for Edge but I doubt they will do this, since they do not care.

In the mean time a lot of customers will have to continue paying for ID Key when it in fact is deprecated and does not work.

Best bet is to just move to Wonde and use bar codes printed into planners or id badges if you can.
