Anyone else using Ericom for remote access?

I got it because I needed an alternative to microsoft direct access mainly for admin staff with desktops. I'm finding the configuration very confusing.

Our previous system Accops was mega complicated but at least made sense in how it was arranged and connected and I could figure out how to simplify it for our needs. Stopped using that because we don't need to pay for the same level of security that Deutchebank has. They use it too. 😅 How we ended up with it is another story.

Ericom is simpler but makes less sense intuitively

I used to have it 2 or 3 years ago, but it was made completely redundant by Microsoft HTML5 RDS, Azure application proxy, and sticking the app proxy settings behind 365 login/MFA requirement. That negated the use case and cost entirely.

The way i used to run it was with the gateway application in an off domain VM that resided in our DMZ, and separate RDS session host.

We had Ericom accessnow, but like MrBios we removed it in favour of the MS RDP5 client hidden behind Azure App proxy (2fa)

My former technician had managed to hack Azure MFA on top of Ericom Accessnow so we always had that, but when he left it was something that became a headache to maintain.

I don't believe Accessnow still has native MFA built in so I would be wary about deploying it now.

Similar to the previous posts, we used to use it a few years ago but switched to a different web-based remote access mechanism - in our case, Guacamole behind a Cloudflare Zero-Trust tunnel with Google authentication. It's been working nicely for both our admin access and for general user remote access for at least a year now.
