Ideas for collecting Parent Contact details

Hi all,

I am looking just for ideas at the moment of the most efficient way to collect updated parent information

We currently have the following:

iSams

My Parent Portal (access Parent Portal)

We are a Microsoft based school

 

I am aware that this needs to be completed before the end of academic year, and right now I am not sure when this was last completed (I am new to the school!)

I believe historically it was a mix of paper contact and the parent portal, but I want one system used (ideally get the parents to complete)

 

Personally I would have waited until Parents Evening printed everything off and got them to confirm details then, and then get Parents to log on to "my parent portal" as part of a training session.

 

but this means it would not happen until next year.

 

I am open to ANY ideas!

Hard copies at Parents Evening is definitely the easiest method, assuming your parent portal doesn't have a way of displaying the information to parents. Alternatively, a Google/Microsoft Form in which you ask parents either for all their details or just for those which they think have changed in the last few years - that could be a big job depending on your school size though.

I'll be monitoring this as we are moving away from the sims parent app which is excellent for data collection as it prepopulates the data we already hold and parents simply update it. but we are moving to sims next gen and already have satchel and the sims parent lite app didn't get rave reviews on here.

My kids school do this annually just using O365 Forms
