MTDT Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 Looking for some advice with someone more experienced with Sophos than myself. We have some XG firewalls at our schools, however we have yet to find a way through Sophos to block YouTube but allow specific videos through. Has anyone successfully achieved this and how did you get it working effectively?
NegativeKillDeath Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 It should just be the case of blocking the YouTube category but having a white list further up the list with the specific URLs you want to allow. That working in the simplest form but I wouldn't call it effective as you have to white list each URL and you can't do a whole channel in one go, only individual videos. 1
ConTheITGuy Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 It has been some time since I last did this but I had Youtube.com blocked but had a override wildcard for specific youtube URLs
Wave9_Lee Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 You can do it with a custom category then add it to the web policy you can also unblock specific channels while keeping Youtube itself blocked, but requires a bit more legwork... 1
