Google Users - How do you Office?

Hi,

 

Not quite as per the title but, for those using Google, how are you handling more complicated documents such as macro enabled spreadsheets, tracker spreadsheets from exam boards, data & finance manager spreadsheets, mail merges etc?

I imagine the majority using Windows will be just using MS Office, but naturally there are schools fully using Chrome etc where this isn't feasible.

We licence 20 users for Office 365. They are the members of the Admin team, some SLT, etc.

All our staff are still on Windows though, just not all of them need Office.

Mail merge - built into Gmail if you have Plus licences. In Sheets we also use Formmule and Autocrat addons.

If you have Plus licences, Drive have an app to convert Excel Macros into Sheets macros. Not perfect - but pretty good.

Cheers - do you know if these work with some of the more dodgy spreadsheets such as what Pearson love to provide subject leads?

Don't know - I've had one from OCR I've had to use Excel with. But most seem to convert OK.

I tried asking Pearson if they would at very least sign their macros and *shock* look for something a bit more modern like a webform etc
