petben Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 I am buying a new 4 x 48 port switch stack for one of our main admin buildings. Going to stick with Aruba as we have 80% Aruba already. The thing that is really making quotes super expensive is buying model have some Multi Gig 2.5G (Smart Rate) ports, and their respective stacking partners, this is as per the DFE standards. I would like some assurance that new switches should be bought with this standard. We don't have anything that needs it now, but switches may be around 10 years. This would be the only place in a large site with 2.5G ports, so if we were thinking about a total wireless AP refresh, if they all required 2.5G ports we would need many many of these switches. ahh upgrades. Thanks
old_n07 Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 Either get in touch with an in house Aruba education account manager or approach a HP partner and get special bid pricing, we've just bought Aruba 6300 series switches and 6405's and the pricing provided by an in house Aruba education account specialist was considerably cheaper than initial channel prices. He will also have access to specialists that can assist on sanity checking the equipment you are looking at is suitable for needs.
