Applying Folder Redirection Policy

Good afternoon,

 

Having migrated all user files to OneDrive over the Easter break we put in folder redirection group policies for both users and devices but I notice that at logon it can take a long time to process, particularly when users are logging onto a device for the first time but also sometimes on the same device again and again.

 

I'm wondering where I might have gone wrong, has anybody seen this behaviour?
