ovenchips Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Hi, I've Been asked by our Media team recently if we can install the capcut desktop app in our media suite, as the web app has been hitting issues with our SSO so students can't sign up. i've had a look at the desktop app and it only seems to install to the userspace so would be pointless unless we set it up to install for every user which would raise hell - there's an option for "location" in the installer, but as soon as you open it the install begins, so I think it's either a download/resource location, or it's completely broken. We block the MS Store for students so the store version is unfortunately out of the question as well. Has anyone else had experience with this or been asked to do the same? Cheers
Frodo_Baggins Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Ditched this early on, pain to deploy without the store and a bit iffy due to creators, If you have Creative Cloud and Premiere is too much for the student\teacher it might be worth looking at Premiere Rush (our staff are quite happy with it) 1
ovenchips Posted April 19, 2024 Author Posted April 19, 2024 Cheers - we do use CC so I'll point them towards Premiere Rush today and possibly whip up a package to demo it. The teacher is good with Premiere Pro and such, but the kids not so much!

If you use Microsoft Intune you can download a copy of v3.7.0 from here - https://links.endpointhq.com/s/CapCut-v3.7.0 Hope that helps.
ovenchips Posted April 22, 2024 Author Posted April 22, 2024 Cheers, will keep that in mind as well - intune is one of those big plans from the central IT team that keeps getting promised but has yet to materialise!
