Sonic007 Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 Hi all, What's the difference between Win11 Education and Win11 Education Pro? Which one would you use? Thankyou.
DrCheese Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 Education is identical to Enterprise Education Pro is identical to Professional You want to use Education. 1
mikes Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 I don't think Education supports DirectAccess (the old Windows VPN access)whereas Enterprise does - DirectAccess has been replaced by AlwaysOnVPN but if you were running a Windows 10 domain that uses DirectAccess for off site access, and you join a Windows 10 Education laptop to that domain, it will not work via DirectAccess and off site VPN access will not work. Enterprise Edition would work as it does support DirectAccess. So one thing to bear in mind if you still use DirectAccess 1

mikes Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 It does support Directaccess (I used it for a while ) OK I stand corrected - either I have got my editions wrong or they have changed it - I remember we had a laptop that did not work via DirectAccess because the version did not support DA, and once we changed the license key and hence the version, it then did work. This was within 6 months of Win 11's release however
Fazza Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Education is the same as Enterprise and (unless it's changed) with Education you can sideload your own (student) written apps on to them.
NeoNebula Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 The main difference between Windows 11 Education and Windows 11 Education Pro is the range of features and functionality available for use. Both versions are aimed at educational institutions, but Windows 11 Education Pro provides additional features that can be useful in a wider range of educational scenarios. For example, Windows 11 Education Pro may include additional device management tools, advanced security features, virtualization capabilities, and additional network management features.

That's wrong in every way As above, Education Pro is just Windows Professional. Normal Education is Enterprise, which has a much bigger feature set. 2
Brummytech Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Windows Education is full blown set similar to Enterprise. Pro Education is the same as Professional But both have upgrade paths for a3/a5 license , Pro will go to enterprise and Pro Education will go to Education if a A3/5 user logs in (Will say digitally licensed subscription active) 1
