Just about to install 2008 on the box I'm building for Exchange but falling at the first hurdle with lack of drivers for the RAID controller

The onboard Adaptec chip hasn't got any 2008 ones, nor the LSI I've just been quoted on (need a low profile card for 2U vertical slot server) so question is... what is supported outside of HP (how I wish the server was HP )

It's SCSI U320... got a feeling the backplane "dummy" drivers won't be available for 2008 either hmmmmmmm

Most of that list seems to be proprietary adapters for big brands own products e.g. the HP ones... race against the clock to track down a low profile one in time starts now

Here are a few, not HCL but they have got drivers:

Adaptec - Adaptec SCSI Card 29320ALP-R

http://www.lsi.com/storage_home/products_home/host_bus_adapters/scsi_hbas/lsi20320r/index.html

SCSI Adapters - ExpressPCI UL5D | ATTO Technology - oops full height

You may still be able to use HP or Dell controllers in a third party system. I have not tried it personally but they all appear to work as INT-13 devices like network cards and standardized RAID controllers simply offering their services to the BIOS at startup. Depending on your current motherboard there is a chance that these adapters would work with it.

remembered the height criteria and captioned one appropriatly
