Free Method to schedule logon hours for managed chromebooks

I’m looking for a method to block Chromebook users from login in between 12 and 6am. In a Windows environment this is no problem but I don’t find a setting in Google workspace to do this. I also can’t find a schedular that allows me to switch Chromebooks from one OU to another.

Any ideas or solutions

Due to GDPR Reasons I can’t use tools like Classroom.cloud when the users are at home.

Not sure how time or location based login has anything to do with GDPR

As above, you can do this in Google itself. GDPR has no bearing on the management of devices "outside of hours", unless perhaps your policies are particularly lax and students/parents are unaware of the controls in place on the devices.

To switch devices from one OU to another programmatically, you could look at using Apps Script. Although I suspect you want to investigate context-aware access in the first instance.

In Belgium we may not monitor our pupils outside of school.

This feature isn't free of charge? Its included in the paid "Google enterprise environment".

We use the free Google Workspace for education.

Do you use any filtering software with the devices when they're used out of hours? Could you set this to block all internet traffic between 12 and 6am? This would render the Chromebook effectively useless as almost everything is done through the web browser.

We have filtering software but it requires an agent to be active and this is against regulations regarding privacy rules in Belgium
