Sonic007 Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Hi, I've just updated from Windows Server 2016 to 2022. Am I right to assume that the policies in Group Policy manager will now be updated to include Windows 11 or do I have to pull them in still? Thanks.
foofighterjim Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 No idea as to your original question, but as a rule of thumb, it never hurts to import the templates from the latest release. 1
Bedders Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Whenever we've got a new operating system, I've always installed the ADMX templates onto a technician's PC, then copied them into SYSVOL.
Sonic007 Posted February 28, 2024 Author Posted February 28, 2024 So they don't come with Windows 2022 then?
Bedders Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 So they don't come with Windows 2022 then? I don't know for sure, sorry. But why would Microsoft ship the latest ADMX files with their server OS, considering not every server will be a DC? Edit to add: I've just re-read the OP and you mention Windows 11. I have never known ADMX files to be updated automatically for client operating system versions. 1
Sonic007 Posted February 28, 2024 Author Posted February 28, 2024 Good point and from what I've seen now they dont. I've just downloaded the latest ones and added them to the store. All good now. Thankyou.
