Yeah, we will likely stick with the Pro Max for our Wifi 7 rollout.

Mainly for the spectrum analyzer as it will help a ton with congestion & they've hinted at some serious improvements in the auto channel selection coming down the track - Previously an AP would have to disable all it's radios & scan on demand.

I will say auto channel management is utterly horrendous currently on Unifi so I'm hopeful

 

Our devices are mainly Wifi 6, but we have NanoHD's everywhere so we lose out currently. Skipped 6 (Aside from high traffic areas) because we'd not long rolled the Nano's out everywhere. Staff laptops are all 6E capable on top so don't have that currently either.

 

replace all 90 AP's we are looking at £13k roughly at Capex cost only with no Opex so its cheap as chips. Even if we wanted to go WIFI 7 then we are only talking £18k which is still crazy good compared to competitors and then they have Opex to account for too.

 

Yeah - A big reason I like Unifi is that it's so cheap I can sneak access point orders over the school year out of our general running budget, rather than having to do big capital procurement projects. We can upgrade a few rooms at a time & not have to worry about control capability or support -

Something we had to worry about with our previous Dell branded Aruba system (Super retro!) whereby upgrading the controller to support newer devices meant chucking out all the old devices in one hit.
