Intune: SharedPC Template does not remove "Primary User"

Everything seems to work fine, but usually you have to remove the primary user to make a device a Shared PC. The Company Portal works for all users, and OneDrive auto-signs in etc.

 

That last thing bugs me though. What's your experience?

Not sure the template and computer account are really related so wouldn’t expect it to remove it.

 

I do hate the primary user thing as Company Portal will not work if you are not the PU. I just use a script that removes the PU of all machines

Are you using autopilot. This is something I'm just getting into but from what I understand, to setup a shared device you need to change the Deployment mode to Self-Deploying in the deploymnet profile.

The portal deploys and opens for all users on ours even though it has a Primary User. I'm not making apps available there, so perhaps that bit doesn't work?

It will say that the Primary User is someone else and not allow app install or other features (such as reset, not that we use that).

I'm not officially using Autopilot - USB unattended builds, but they do show up as autopilot in Intune for some reason. Perhaps down to my provisioning package, not sure.
