Come into work this morning and the idex database on the smoothwall has an internal error. Was working fine yesterday.

No one able to get out to the net, anyone able to help?

Only work around is to put every through a no auth rule and give network admin rules.

When i try to re-create an idex directory i get:

"Internal error: Could not update IDex cluster configuration: Could not reload authd5"

Also getting a load of the following in our Authentication logs.

07:59:44 Authentication service No such file or directory at /usr/share/perl/5.20/Authd4/Cluster.pm line 545.

07:59:58 Authentication service No such file or directory at /usr/share/perl/5.20/Authd4/Cluster.pm line 545.

Also seeing this:

03:00:11 Authentication service Fatal error at src/ds_samba.c:1036: Couldn't open Samba settings file /modules/auth/settings/authd/authdgenerated/servers/1/ds_samba.conf

Support needs to take a look - you can try deleting the iDex database on the settings page and then run the sendaddatanow.exe in the iDex agent install directory on a DC.

Also check that the AD directories is still in the directory list and you can edit and save it.

When i try to add a new Idex directory lookup i get

"Internal error: Could not update IDex cluster configuration: Could not reload authd5"

I've got another S9 so going to fire that up, and put last night's backup on that.

I disabled the Idex directory. I've cleared the Idex Store / database from the Settings menu but when i go to enable the Idex directory i get - Error: Internal error: Could not update IDex cluster configuration: Could not reload authd5

Unable to save anything in the Auth - directories page. I keep getting Internal error: Could not update IDex cluster configuration: Could not reload authd5

@tom_newton As i'm running Maiden 8, the Authentication of Maiden has a certificate! This had expired!!! Maybe one to note down in your notes as a gotcha incase anyone else on Maiden 8 has the issue.

So, no idex errors this morning but the Authentication service has a red cross against it - no one could use the internet though - I couldn't even access the network via VPN.

Our logs still states:

08:04:18 Authentication service Service started

08:04:20 Authentication service No such file or directory at /usr/share/perl/5.20/Authd4/Cluster.pm line 545.

We cannot continue with this every morning! Support need to do something about this - this needs looking into!
