Lenovo Chromebook - brand new - dead pixels

We have purchased 10 Lenovo Chromebooks from Getech and one has about 6 lines of dead pixels in an area of 10mm x 50mm.

 

Lenovo have said these are due to Customer Induced Damage and will not repair the device. I think they are missing the point that these dead pixels were there when we took the chromebook out the box!

 

Kudos to Getech who are replacing the screen for us but just a word of warning if you purchase Lenovo products.

 

If they are shipped with dead pixels, they see you as damaging the equipment even before you've taken it out of the box!

Lenovo QC these days is absolutely awful. We've just had a load of 100e chromebooks and they're OK, but the general quality of the devices & the service is just awful Think I'd rather go Acer these days, and that's saying something!

Remembers when Lenovo kit was great - how times have changed!

 

We will be looking at ASUS, Acer and Samsung in the future, maybe dell if suppliers can quote for Dells.

My home workhorse laptop is an aging Lenovo of the Thinkpad era - T530 or something of that ilk. That's solid, but still not as solid as the even older models; maybe a sign of the times though, nothing these days is properly sturdy any more unless it's covered in rubber and branded V-Tech

Yep Lenovo have refused every one of our RMAs citing some kind of non/barely existent scratch or damage, there's always some excuse as to why they need to charge £250 to repair a £150 chromebook. The warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on.

Warranties are very much ok dependant on the manufacturer and the part that has failed.

 

I think when it comes to dead pixles, i think it should be number of dead pixels per inch.
